John Ulrich met Louis Brewster back when he and partner Bruce Hammer were racing in the 1981 AFM Pro Budweiser 500K at Riverside Raceway. Team Hammer (Ulrich and Hammer) finished second, behind Eddie Lawson and Ron Pierce and ahead of Harry Klinzmann and Dave Emde.
